Do you have any idea how many ridiculous bills make it to the floor? No doubt, this one will end up right in the trash bin... Surely, the president who signs this into law is doomed to be a one-termer....and a repeal of the law.

My bet is that they are simply testing the waters...throwing a little chum in the water, and see who's biting......
and who's not....

Well the worry is that they might stick this kind of thing into a security appropriations bill, which are generally secret. Then, conveniently, some kind of disaster strikes, and BOOM, all us young men are fighting something we don't want to. This jacks up the suicide rate per 100,000 and friendly fire incidents, all the while providing for an ineffective fighting force.

1. "absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely" - GOP controls the three branches of government

2. Numerous bills/legislation has made it through the ratification process based on majority rule, with brute force when necessary. Provisions have shown up in the oddest places, such as a Eli Lily being shielded from lawsuits for their vaccines causing autism ....this in a Homeland security bill.

3. Economic recovery for shareholders is great, but it is a jobless recovery with greater & greater numbers simply giving up looking for work.

4. Foreign policy is beligerent & without exit strategy in all things thus engaged. The likelyhood of other fronts opening up within the near term is probable.
Our military is deployed in South America, South East Asia, Korean Peninsula and several point throught the Middle East

5. Re-enlistment numbers are abysmal & are at historic modern era lows. The recent rebuff by the enlisted on the $10K bribe is further evidence.

6. Draft board workers have already been advertised for.

Let's tally:

Non-stop war is highly likely, particularly true if another Bush term comes to pass. People are not working in very large numbers. The new blood entering the workforce is an additional burden to that, with the educated finding serious disillusion , for nothing is hiring entry level in their chosen field.
While a draft will suck up many of them, I think, out of sheer desperate necessity & a false promise that they'll get their field of choice & not infrantry, many will also enlist.

There are (to how I classify them) 3 GOP members, 2 Moderates (could go eather way), and 4 Progressivists.

At the other courts, primarly the circuts, they are for a extreme majority progressive or dems. the 2nd Circut is 2 NeoCons and 1 Progressive.

The question is there a balance? Is there anyone who isnt a fanatic in Government?
