I think its a very badly done Hoax, funny, but badly done.

This has been covered before.

The image first surfaced in October 2002 as an entry in a Photoshop contest run by Worth1000.com. It was created by altering an actual photo of a Cornell University excavation of a mastodon skeleton.

Here is the link to the image on the contest website.

The dig site is real it shows them working on a mastodon skeleton. However the bones you see here are that of a human resized to fit and totally fake.

Look at the end of the shovel in the man's hand's top right.

Interesting. The website says that western debunkers claimed it a hoax, but i have never even heard of this before. Any other sources for it?

I have posted this like 5 minutes ago, and already there are lots of responses! Great.

As for the pic, I found the page interesting and thought you might like it. Now after checking the link at Worth1000 and reading your comments, I am convinced that this is fake.

I wish I could delete this post.

How about from the Cornell U website?

Compare this Cornell photo of the excavation with the photoshoped picture of the 'gigantic man skeleton'

Hope that will put an end to this.

Don't say that, there may be thousands of people who never seen or heard of this that look at your page. And a lot of us have "seen it all", so we nicely inform you that its a hoax and provide you with evidence, and everyone gets to see it....

Yeah, i can see it as a hoax now, serves me right for not refreshing the tab before posting

Of course, one could always be crazy and claim they shopped the Mastodon into the original photo...
