The Minnesota State Fire Marshall and the Department of Homeland Security are on the scene of an explosion in Lake Wilson. It happened last night about 11:30. Witnesses from Edgerton and Jasper, Minnesota, 25 miles away, report hearing and feeling the blast.

The town of Lake Wilson is all but shut down. That's so investigators can begin figuring out what caused the explosion and residents can start cleaning up.

....so why is DHS on scene? That's bizarre. Since when are they investigating propane tank explosions?

Hmmmmmmm.

Banshee, thats why I posted the article. Very strange isn't it. We'll have to keep our eyes and ears open for other similar stories to see if there is a pattern.

Truck explosion in Baltimore
I can't confirm if it's true or not, but a source told me DHS is investigating this accident, too.

Nothing about what caused the accident? The stories Ive read say the truck just fell off the ramp, how does a truck just fall? Come on something had to have caused it to fall.

Tracer, I can't substantiate it with a link,
but I've heard from other sources that at least one witness reported that the truck sped up and seemed to intentionally crash thru the barrier separating the overpass from the highway.
There are some reports that "...one person in a truck that was somehow involved in the accident jumped out and ran away."

In a similar vein...

Looks like some weirdness going on yesterday. An explosion in MN being investigated by DHS, the tanker truck incident in MD, and yet another mysterious explosion in ME.
*thoughtful*

I think that DHS automatically investigate all explosions now - standard procedure. Most will probably be 'accidents'

That is very weird. That must have been a hell of an explosion.

I wonder if there is any significance to the fact that all the explosions occurred in states starting with the letter "M", and that they are all considered "soft targets".
