My problem is this( thanks for asking), America has got guns all over the place. In canada it is big news when someone is caught with a gun or with a shipload of 20 guns maybe slighty more. Guns are dangerous and I wish that america would learn from all the violence that has come from them. Saying guns kill people and not people is just crazy...you buy the gun to kill if someone takes from you....so it is the person who kills not the gun. I am not saying that there is not gun violence in Canada but our youth look up to american youth. We also get our guns illegally from america.

and a quote from the article "Why does the US wince at every GI's death in Iraq, while ignoring every child's gunshot death at home? Why do Americans tolerate 31,000 such deaths a year"

You know intrepid, I get exhausted by these people from other nations telling the citizen of the USA how bad/rotten/stupid/ uncaring/etc we are. So I exercised my human right and made fun on him. I didn't call him a name. All I did was to poke fun at him.

I don't think he was much of a man at all, he had you to encourage him, he couldn't do it on his own.

Awhile back, I too "got exhausted" - or was it PO'd? - with all the "dog pile on the U.S. posts" on ATS. So, I basically quit coming here for awhile, and you know what I found out? That if a fool rants in the forest with no one else around, you really can't hear the sound ...

IMO, there really is nothing else that can be contributed to what is obviously meant to be solely a U.S. baiting thread by a self-confessed jerk (OP's words, not mine). In the "old days", a mod would have s-canned this thread in a heartbeat. At least way before there was a page 2.

I keep and bear arms because it is my right to do so.

I live in a country where i believe that my rights have been violated by the US government by various means (patriot act, Real ID cards ect.) but i love my nation, and i will do anything for her.

The 2nd amendment is in my constitution for a reason, to overthrow Tyrannous government when necessary. it is there to protect its citizens. If and when i have too i will go up in arms with my fellow country men to protect our constitution.

And i think that guns are cool so

Hmmm.. well this thread has evolved into a few shapes and sizes along with
a dash of mud-slinging by "Digital-Egos Gone Wild", so do you mind if I step
in with an off-kelter observation?

We at ATS are extremely tolerant of many things as we know that otherwise
scream's of "rights and/or freedom of speech" being stripped would be
running rampant. But keep in mind, just like a restaurant that says "NO
SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO SERVICE", this holds true here with our version called
"Terms and Conditions" (T&C's).

Now what does the above have to do with my next comment, well absolutely
nothing but since you've read this much you can continue forward with my
little bit of weird reality on accidental death's..

And with regards to Doctors:

(A) The number of doctors in the U.S. is 700,000

(B) Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 17.14%

Statistics courtesy of the U.S.Dept of Health & Human Services

***************************************************************
And with regards to Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000 (yes that's 80
million)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is
1,500

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.001875%

Statistics courtesy of the FBI

So statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous
than gun owners.

***************************************************************
Remember, guns don't kill people, doctors do.

***************************************************************
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE
DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors
before this gets completely out of hand!

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld statistics on
lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek
medical attention.

Thank you JA for posting that often ignored statistical comparison. We could also do the same thing to prove guns are safer than cars, and many other things we use and take for granted in our every day lives.

So, let's solve the issue this way once and for all:

If you don't need guns - don't buy one and don't be around them.

If you don't like guns - don't buy one and don't be around them.

If you are afraid of guns - don't buy one and don't be around them.

Otherwise, just leave the rest of us legal gun owners the hell alone.
