One of things after a major disaster is for people to look back for books
or articles for "clues" foreshadowing the disaster
One of the most well know is novella written in 1898 by Morgan Robertson
call "Futillity" about fictional ship TITAN which closely parallel the TITANIC
For those of you who have not read it yet, Robertson wrote of a British ocean liner, 800 feet long, with triple expansion engines, two masts and three
screws. This fictional ship was the largest most luxurious ever built and was considered unsinkable. She was racing across the Atlantic in the month
of April at high speed when she collided with an iceberg off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland near midnight. Despite her many watertight compartments,
the ship foundered very quickly and almost everyone was lost, due in no small part to a completely insufficient number of lifeboats. The name of
Robertson’s fictional ship was the Titan.
Some tinfoilers point to short lived TV show THE LONE GUNMAN - a spin
off from the X FILES in an episode a few months before 9/11 where the
misfit heroes foil an attempt to fly a remote controlled airplane into
the World Trade Center.
On a more serious note NEST (NUCLEAR EMERGENCY SEARCH TEAM)
has a database containing plot outlines and text from all books dealing
with nuclear weapons. This is in case a threat letter is received
threatening to explode a nuclear weapon - the text is run through the
database to determine if it could be real or a hoax copied from a book.
