Man mauled to death at Ving Rhames' home

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A 40-year-old man was mauled to death by as many as four dogs at the home of Ving Rhames on Friday, authorities said. The victim, who hasn't been identified, had worked at the actor's home for about two years and was responsible for caring for the dogs, said Los Angeles Police officer Sandra Gonzalez.

The article states they were mastiffs. I'm not aware of mastiffs being used for fighting, but they may be.

A friend of mine had one. Scariest dog I've ever seen, and that was when he was in a good mood. My friend lived on the first floor of a triple decker, and had to put plywood over every window because the dog would not hesitate to go through a window after the mailman, etc.
