Robots have been roaming the streets of Iraq, since shortly after the war began. Now, for the first time -- the first time in any warzone -- the machines are carrying guns.

I wonder what amount of cameras those things have?

It would be rather embarrasing if you could just sneak up from behind and tip it over

They to be rather slow at turing left and right...not exact gunfighter reflexes...depending how venurable they are to small arms fire...they could jsut be a really expensive way to make the insurgents laugh into submission

The robot's are not meant to replace the soldier and or win firefights by themselves, they will be used in the armed scout/point man role. The point being to expose the position of the enemy by drawing fire so that heavy follow up forces and deal with them much more easily. A robot is dispensable and replaceable, a human is not, if nothing else (morally) the economics behind it are very convincing.

True, in that form it has potential, but, how will it really stop ambushes if the insurgants simply hide from them, knowing that human soilders are not far away?
