Pastor Marty Baker, from the Stevens Creek Community Church in Augusta, GA, has developed an ATM for church giving. That's right, the Automatic Teller Machine has been morphed into an Automatic Tithing Machine.

www.creditbloggers.com...

That is how the rich get richer and the poor give to the rich.
This is just sad, I mean not only is the churches sitting on a bank
but now they can make it bigger. I wonder what they will do with the money.
Maybe buy the pope a new outfit? or buy the pope a new 2008 hummer?
I will definitely be staying away from churches.

Bars, casinos, movie theaters, ball parks, and dozens of other places take ATM or credit card, why not churches? It is a good business move on the part of the church.

I know you think it is crass to put an ATM machine in the church, but if you want to avoid crassness, do not step into a church.

Why not a church? You see, this is the mindset that is destroying not only the church, but our nation. No sense of moral obligation at all. None. This is getting really disgusting.

Here is one of the many reasons that I don't go to church.. It has really turned into little more than a money making scheme.

I'll just keep my own personal beliefs and the "church" can do as it wishes. My beliefs are better anyway..

Seriously, this is beyond repugnant... What are people even thinking. Yet, I guarantee you that those who have to be told what to believe will be lined up at that ATM on Sunday forking over them dollars... :shk: Sad, really.

No matter how how you view the typical church, money is very important to its function and well being. The polyanna's will have to concede that people need to bring a fraction of their income and put it in the collection plate so the church can do God's will. The cynics will say that the church is like any other business, and desires a good cash flow.

So no matter how you view how the church is or should be, you must concede that it requires money to function.. Since church's like bowling alleys, bars, and restraunts, need money, it would make sense that they would use the same tools that businesses use to extract money from patrons. (I could phrase it nicely to say church's are using the same tools businesses use to provide convenience for their guests.) One of those tools businesses use are ATM machines.

I really have nothing to do with any organized religion at all. I have my own personal beliefs and that is good for me...

i see nothing wrong with putting money in the collection plate for church upkeep or a donation box to help out needy in community. but i n the last 15 years the churches in my area have gone crazy saying you have to give ten percent of your gross income to church as a tithe. recently some have even told the members they need to show their tax info to church to make sure they are paying their church tax.
now atms what next money lenders and dove salesmen

this is dispicable! this is a good example that everything that is wrong with modern religion! the only religion that i know of that the members fully volunteer their time and and are not paid to run and operate the church is the mormon religion. and yet it is one of the richest, ney, the richest church organization on the planet. i do not agree with alot of their teachings but i was always impressed by the fact that it is not in the making money religion business...look into it you'll see.
