To some he is the archetypical mad scientist.
What he seems to have promoted is the control of human behavior by means of
electronic implants and radio waves.
This is what he refers to as the psycho-civilizing of society.
He is credited with the invention of the stimociever,an electrical implant that operates
on FM radio waves.
It is with this device that he intended originally to help with the so-called psycho-civilizing process.
By implanting this device within the brain he can control the emotions of individuals by electrical
stimulation.
His experiments on animals has proven that electrically stimulating certain parts of the brain
can cause lust,fatigue or rage.
He may have experimented on some humans as well.

His biggest publicity stunt took place in a bullring somewhere in Spain.
He had one of the charging bulls implanted with one of his electrodes.
When he stepped into the ring the bull of course charged after him.
What does he do? Pulls out a red cape and flies it in the bull's face?
Not exactly.
Not quite as flamboyant as a real toreador he simply pulls out a black box
presses a button and stops the bull in it's tracks.

He has been associated by some with the notorious mk-ultra project, that was
conducted by the CIA.
This was the project that experimented in mind control or brainwashing with
the use of '___' and other substances.

Here are some quotes from Dr. Delgado expressing his views on mind control or the psycho-civilizing of society.
It does seem like he knows what's good for us eh?

We need a program of psychosurgery and political control of our society. The purpose is physical control of the mind. Everyone who deviates from the given norm can be surgically mutilated.

"The individual may think that the most important reality is his own existence, but this is only his personal point of view. This lacks historical perspective.

"Man does not have the right to develop his own mind. This kind of liberal orientation has great appeal. We must electrically control the brain. Some day armies and generals will be controlled by electrical stimulation of the brain."

a real philanthropist, this guy.
scary thing is, it's people like him who are in control.
i've read his stuff before. nice.
the big hole in his theory, of course, is that HE had the right to develop his own mind, without which, there would be no such idea of centralised control of the 'herd'. humans or any other creature, do not develop by being all the same. there is strength in diversity.
i'd love to play brain surgeon with his skull.

You can definitely see why somebody like him could have
been part of the mkultra project.
I'm sure all his psycho-neurological babble must have impressed the CIA men.

It's a good point to indicate the obvious hypocrisy in regard to him.
He attended the university of madrid where he specialized in neurophysiology, and spent time writing a book expressing his views on the psycho-civilizing of society.

What right did he have to develop his own mind about
anything?
His comments in my post sound like the ravings of a mad
scientist in some low budget sci fi movie.
