It's weird to me.

What do y'all make of this?

www.dumpalink.com...

The U.S. Government charging soldiers for equipment damaged in the line of duty? They're putting their lives on the line doing their jobs. If it can be proven that they intentionally damaged it, then yes, charge them for it. Four years later though? If they can't even provide any documentation as to what was damaged, then all charges should be dropped.

Innocent until proven guilty?

I guess not in the military's eyes.

Sorry if this is old, or has been posted somewhere else already, but it's new to me and I didn't know where else to put it.

Yeah... If you lose or damage a piece of equipment, you are responsible for it.. I paid out the butt for lost and damaged supplies when I was in the Army.

I sure have filled out my AF Form 1168 on a few occasions. That's a statement, stating you didn't break it, sometimes you get stuck paying for it, sometimes ya don't.

I think maybe with deliberate or negligent loss it is justifiable.

This sort of thing reminds me of that story that in WW1 were they say they did not supply British pilots with parachutes, so that they would make the effort to land a damaged expensive piece of equipment.

But to ask for dosh four years after you left an organisation, with no clue as to what you lost or damaged is frigging crazy. I note that the vid says $1.5 million dollars has been recouped this way. I ask the question. With no real evidence of what you owe the money for, is it not possible for an enterprising individual to come up with a scam and become a millionaire?

Next they will be charging for rounds that don't hit target
