I haven't read through the thread so what I'm going to say may have already been suggested by someone.
I have herniated discs in my neck and they cause all kinds of odd sensations from muscle cramps to "shocky" type pains to just occasional soreness.
Sometimes even numbness. This is a possibility, especially if you've ever had any kind of injury to the area. Injury isn't necessary, however, as I
never experienced anything traumatic yet an MRI showed three herniated discs and another test indicated inflamed nerve tissue. Your doctor is your
best bet in figuring out what is going on.
Alternatively, a chiropractor may be able to help you.
ETA: Just realized this is an OOOOOOLD thread, lol. Oh well... may help someone so I'll leave my post up.
