Has the Anon forum been disabled?

Topic started on 26-7-2007 @ 09:44 AM by sdp333

I noticed the anonymous forum has not had any new submissions since early July. Also noticed the "new thread" icon is not showing up either in that forum.

I did a search and did not see any announcement from the admin regarding disabling it. Perhaps i'm overlooking it or completely wrong in my assumption that it's totally gone.

I thought the anon forum was interesting at times and was just wondering....what's up?

Because freedom is messy and not everybody can handle it.
Little kids and porn pedlers abused the anon board to the point that now nobody can enjoy it.
I completely understand.

I wish there were 'freedom' and 'rights' classes in schools to teach the youth exactly what freedom and rights are.
Most people just dont understand that along with rights come responsability, and when you act irresponsably you get your freedom curtailed.
Abusing rights and freedom leads to chaos and then the subsequent revocation of freedom.

As one of the lucky ones who worked with the anon board I can tell you that it got to the point where it simply wasn't salvageable.

People who spam LOVE when there's no signup required.

Basically it got so bad that in order to keep the hideous amounts of spam off we would have had to require at least email confirm, or something of that nature, and that would have removed the whole anonymous point.

It's a shame really because at the beginning it was going great. As soon as word spread around the spammer circles, that was all she wrote.

Good riddance. I knew it was a mistake when they initiated the whole anonymous posting...
