Officials have begun the slaughter of thousands of chickens in India as they find H5N1.

So far, measures to prevent the feared pandemic seem to have worked, but it keeps popping up.

It does keep popping up but it doesnt seem to have slaughtered as many humans as the scientists were claiming does it?

A look at those that did die show them to be actually living with the chickens, with some of the boys in Turkey who died seen to be playing with bits of dead birds.

Ive got chickens, luv em to bits, but I wouldnt sleep with em !

Health officials in India were monitoring four children suffering from fever on Wednesday after they had contact with dead or sick poultry in Manipur state, where authorities are fighting a bird flu outbreak in fowl.


They also mention checking on 230,000 people so far for flu symptoms .

Yes, I saw this the other day - it seems they're taking it pretty seriously.

Do you remember when avian flu was first found?

We were all going to die horrible deaths and the earth would be wiped out etc etc.

I'm trying to find out what else was going on at the time and see if something was "buried" under the media hysteria about h5n1.

1997 Outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 are reported in poultry at farms and wet markets in Hong Kong.Human infections with H5N1 are reported in Hong Kong. Altogether, 18 cases (6 fatal) are reported in the first known instance of human infection with this virus .

Kids test negative for BF all completed tests also are negative .

Throat swab and tissue samples of the four boys had been sent for testing but no sign of bird flu was found.

I was thinking more of when the current scare began.

One of the first big reports was feb 16 2006, when the virus first came to public prominence, and lots of air time was dedicated to it. I've found 2 stories of relevance to the UK - 2 stories which the Blair regime don't like to talk about.

While BF world tour took off in 2006 , many laws changed also all laws mentioned under pandemic , terror environment . Police laws , to chicken laws , many countries as the tour developed laws slipped in giving all different powers to different areas , I am confused not many said BOO to the new laws . I find them just as scary as the thought of a pandemic . Pan flu was in the same sentence as terrorism with changing laws .

Just seems to be another case of the government saying "Oh, here's a threat that you can't handle on your own AND THATS WHY YOU NEED US!!!"

Not a distraction type thing, just something for the gov't to prop up their "legitimacy".

Yes agree they make police states , but then they say like here in OZ and USA ... You are on your own , don't expect help .. if a health caused pandemic happens . But we have tough new laws in place , but you will be on your own . same message for long time now . Airport hangers will be home to passengers until dead or cleared of infection , note how long test results take now .... pack extra undies in case ..of unexpected stay overs in hangers if traveling by air ..or bus or train or ship or just traveling to Nana's place in next state . Laws are in place be aware of them and be prepared . You will be on your own is the message .
