Symbol in NYC building-A Mystery

Just reading THIS article and i thought it was interesting. I suppose it is all in the eyes of the beholder as to what it means. Perhaps someone on ATS will have some insight as to what it might be (as i am sure they will).

There is a building down in the financial district in NYC that dates back to the 1800's and was commissioned for the guy who started Colgate Palmolive and the American Bible Society.

Is it Illuminati, cult based, imagery of Christian significance or just a weird design in a building? YOU DECIDE. =)

The triangle is held to have religious/esoteric significance for many reasons. Here are a couple:

1. It represents the trinity.
2. An ancient Greek philosopher (can't remember who, too lazy to do the research atm) claimed a triangle was a symbol of God because 1+2=3.
