Has anyone actually read this?
Apparently its some new agy book written by the hand of some alien or something who explains the world, why it was created etc etc.

Im curious if anyone has a take on this at all.

An old roomate of mine from back in the day was into this book and tried explaining it to me. It was $35 and back then I just couldn't afford it. Now you can read it all online for free.

I'd love opinions.

It's been discussed here before, most of the opinion that it's just gibberish foisted on the gullible in an attempt to make a buck. "But it's free!" says hold. "Hold up" says I, "they can still make a buck with commentaries and DVDs!!!"

A great book that breaks down the specifics on being here and what you graduate to, along with creation.

I have it and TRIED to read it a couple of times. Pretty tough going. The Bible is easier. As I understand it, Urantia is "channeled" from space beings and came out of the Seventh Day Adventist movement. Martin Gardner, of Scientific American puzzle fame, did a book abo ut Urantia which you will love or hate.

I have it, I read it. To anyone interested in philosophy, or spiritual movements it is worth looking in to. By far one of the most puzzling books in my library. I can't say it is "the way things are" but it feels like there are grains of truth within it. Not for those with an sure-minded investment in mainstream religions.

Hard to read. Interesting concepts... especially about Satan. Muahaha.
I agree, bible much easier read... ug.
If you have the time and inclination, try it out. Do not expect much

Channeled stuff is always a bit slippery, though.
Is it transcending space and time for the *truth*, or is it snake oil, or simply the result of eager believer? That is up to you to decide.

I've read a good bit of it.......interesting 'retelling' of the Biblical events and earth history . Several mistakes in it have caused some to question how divine and all-knowing the source could be.

The text was given verbally through a 'sleeping subject', performing in a way similar to Edgar Cayce. The original was created in this way beginning in the 30's, I believe. Here's some other links

( chapter list )

( includes some papers written about the book)

The last I read, there was a 'second coming' shortly at hand.......perhaps even already here.
