"Geckel" is a super-strong adhesive that combines fibrous silicone, similar in structure to a gecko's foot, and a polymer that mimics the "glue" used by mussels to attach themselves to rocks. They envision this as having great medical usages for sutures and bandages, as it is a water-resistant adhesive.

Pretty neat when nature gives us technological advances...
