The Haunting (1963 original) - best ghost flick ever

Oh Yeah! I had forgotten that, although I don't know why; like you say, it is the absolute best ghost story movie ever made. Gave me nightmares for a week and most of the scary stuff was suggested more than visualized, which is probably why it was so scary; what we imagine is always scarier than what actually is.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1976 remake) - is this sci-fi or horror?

It was o.k but thought the original was scarier; and it's both sci-fi and horror.

Speaking of Body Snatchers, I'm looking forward to the re-remake with Nicole Kidman coming out next week.

We'll see. Remakes are hardly ever better than the original or even the previous remake.

The Omen...the original one. Scared the bejeesus outta me. Ran home from the theatre...

The Shining...Jack Nicholson nailed it. Don't much like him, but he did the job in this one...

I like my horror movies to have a supernatural basis. Also, I greatly prefer atmosphere over bloodletting. My top five:
