Scientists have found that nanoparticles can potentially pose as a serious threat to the human body. Literally being the size of groups of atoms,
evidence has been found that nanoparticles can unknowingly enter the body and lodge themselves inside the brain and travel through the insides.
Research on laboratory rats have shown that nanoparticles inhaled through the nose can travel through the lungs and into the blood stream. Scientists
have yet to say if this can directly affect humans. Although we breathe in nanoparticles everyday living, they can trigger allergic or cardovascular
problems in some individuals.

Personally, I don't think that this is is too serious, as nanotechnology is still in the works. It's when we start manufacturing nanoparticles in
everyday home, industrial, and military use should we be concerned.
This may be a potential weapon for use by terrorists as an anthrax-like "biological weapon".
If you are interesting in finding out more about nanotechnology and how and they can go horribly wrong, I suggest you read the book "Prey" by
Michael Crichton, which describes what happens when a killer cloud of evolving, adapting nanoparticles are let loose.
