I got a feeling this gonna be a great movie.

Matthew Vaughn directed and he may be the director for 'Thor'(2009)

If you really want to experience the best part of "Stardust", you'll want to read the book by Neil Gaiman. He's among my top 3 favorite authors. I was kind of hoping "Good Omens" would get made before Stardust, but still, I'm very excited that more of his works are going to film. I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for it.

I've never even heard of this movie. Is it a sci-fi mafia movie? Will he be whacking-out people?

Cool!

Edit: I don't know guys. I read the plot and it looks like bomb material. Damnit DeNiro.............Capt. Shakespeare??????..........please don't do this!!:shk:

Peace

Looks like a step up from being Fearless Leader in the Bullwinkle epic, though.

Yeah, I never understood why he did Rocky and Bullwinkle.

I've type-cast him as a ganster because that's what he's best at, although the movie he did with Dakota Fanning wasn't too bad where he was that psycho father.

Peace

No, seriously, it's a great book.

Read the book. The movie may or may not blow chunks.

The premise of the movie is this:

This dude lives in some backwater village where there's a reputed gate to the faerie kingdom. He falls harcore in love with some chick and asks for her love, and she tries to blow him off by pointing at a falling star and saying "Aight, fine, but first you have to fetch me that falling star."

Thing is, the star fell beyond the wall seperating human land from faerie land. But the dude is dead set on winning the heart of this chick, and he crosses through the gate, and has an epic adventure to retrieve the fallen star.

It has some really neat twists and turns. It's a great book. Like I said though, I dunno about the movie itself.

I think the plot sounds better when you add a few "dudes" in the description.

IDK, DeNiro just seems to be miscast in roles like this. I hope he doesn't have some ridiculous accent. I mean, this is freakin' Ace Rothstein here. Ace Rothstein don't captain no ship, he cuts off peoples' hands with power saws.

Peace

Well yaaaas, on the other hand (no pun intended), Rupert Pupkin needed Sandra Bernhard's help to kidnap Jerry Lewis.

OK guys, I saw the trailer and to my horror DeNiro does in fact have a ridiculous accent.:shk:

I have put in a call to Scorsese and asked if he would consider pulling DeNiro's career out of the toilet, you know, maybe a Goodfellas 2 or Casino: The Golden Years.

Bob, what happened to you man????????

Peace

Maybe he's trying to break out of his typecasting as a hardcore, feared, respected, and wealthy gangster. He might be like, sick of people just assuming all the time that he's such a badass, like Mr. T and Woody Allen.

I'm inbetween about this film, the trailer does look good - but it has Ricky Gervaise in it who I HATE with a passion. Even if he's just got a cameo in the film, he'll work his way through it like a weed! When will he realise that no one think's he's funny and to F-off! *calms down...*

Also... the 'bad guy' looks like he's dashed over to the Harry Potter set and nicked Snapes costume

Anyway, I'll give this film a chance ^_^

DeNiro not withstanding...this looks to be pretty decent...guess we'll see...

That's a typo, right? When I think badass, I somehow don't picture Woody Allen....

(blink)

Holy crap, dude, don't ever let him hear you say that. He may be small, but he's tougher than a squirrel with two tails. Check out a few of these Woody Allen facts:

  • Guns don't kill people. Woody Allen kills People.

  • There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Woody Allen allows to live.

  • Woody Allen does not sleep. He waits.
  • The chief export of Woody Allen is Pain.

  • There is no chin under Woody Allen's Beard. There is only another fist.
  • Woody Allen has two speeds. Walk, and Kill.
  • The leading causes of death in the United States are: 1. Heart Disease 2. Woody Allen 3. Cancer
  • Woody Allen drives an ice cream truck covered in human skulls.
  • When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Woody Allen.
  • Woody Allen is the reason why Waldo is hiding.
  • Woody Allen doesn’t wear a watch, HE decides what time it is.
  • Woody Allen CAN believe it's not butter.
  • Woody Allen can divide by zero.
  • Woody Allen doesn't brew coffee, he grinds the beans with his teeth and boils the water with his rage.

    Woody Allen is superbad.

Woody Allen seriously creeps me out.

The cast for this movie looks great though and I really like Michelle Phieffer. I have thought about reading the book first but I keep picking up other things instead since I don't really like SciFri books...just personal preference
