Robotic Bird Developed For Spying

A shape-shifting, robotic bird that can sweep through the skies without a peep has all the right stuff for ground surveillance and even spying on its real-life inspiration—the common swift.

The robotic bird measures 20 inches (51 centimeters) from wingtip to wingtip and weighs less than three ounces (80 grams).

RoboSwift carries three onboard micro cameras, with two mounted on the wing and one in the belly pointing downward. A display mounted to the robo-plane’s head will beam the images to the ground where pilots can get a bird’s-eye view.

An interesting development in robotics.

First off, I have to say, it's not aesthetically pleasing, I mean I know it does'nt have to,
but colouring to make it look more like a bird and maybe adding some cosmetic
touches would'nt be that bad an idea in my opinion.

I don't see this particular technology becoming widespread in use, rather I see it having
limited uses outside of war zones, perhaps in natural disasters or to check on forest fires,
but it does'nt seem like it would be an effective spy since it stands out so much.
