I can't give you much informed opinion about it but read the works of Austin Osman Spare and Peter J. Carroll.

You might also want to look into Robert Anton Wilson and Discordianism.

I'm even more ignorant about Chaos Magic than Hermeticism, but it sounds like something that would be somewhat dangerous, (from an occult point of view anyway). I'm sure you wouldn't point me in a direction that would be dangerous to my well-being, but is Chaos Magic really for beginners?
