I'm not sure how something like this could happen, but it did happen. Somebody is gonna lose a stripe!

PATRIOT MISSILE FOUND IN JUNKYARD

Don't they have someone keeping a list or inventory on things like this?

Wonder if it had been stolen, or was in the process of being stolen, you know hiding it in scrap that was ment to be transported or something. The Patriot takes out other missiles don't it? suppose it could work on an aircraft.

Be funny(ish) if they robbed it, then figured it was only the training model (no war head) and just tossed it on the scrap.

it only appears to be a training model. If thats not true, i'd really like to know where there warhead went.

lol, if i lost a missile, id probably say the same thing.

you'd have to look in the airplane "grave yard", it's out west somewhere.

Why yes I do remember Salvage one. On kinda the same note. A TV station where I live did a story on a train load of missles left unguarded in a downtown area for several days.

It's in the Mojave desert, where they test the privatized spaceships.

It is rare, but not unheard of for these types of mistakes to happen. Many years ago, when I was working for then McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing, on the Harpoon Missile project, we sold a missile container to a local farmer who wanted to use it to create a culvert of some sort. Imagine our embarrasment when the farmer took receipt of the container, opened it up, and found a fully operational Harpoon sitting in it.
