Personally I believe they might have actually killed him.

Perhaps.

Many of "Their Sites" have posted the fax that is signed by Harkat Jihad al Islami 313 Brigade Spokesman Abu Hunzala, which confirms his death.

Along with the fax it is 2 photos. One very well known photo of him, and one of him after death.
Not being a photo I.D. expert, its hard for me to say if its him or not.

Interesting too is that one news service is said to have video of him in the apple orchard he was killed in, just after death. I've not found that video yet.

The longwarjournal.org has also published the photos, but they give SITE credit. We at ATS don't need to rely on them though. We can find the info before they do.

Perhaps.

The longwarjournal.org has also published the photos,

Longwarjournal has updated their information to show the
pic of Ilyas Kashmiri after death is not him.

In addition, another release from the longwarjournal.org points out:

the original statement released by HUJI contained misspellings of the terror group's name, Arif Rafiq, the Editor of The Pakistan Policy Blog, told The Long War Journal.

"Though [HUJI is] a Pakistani organization, the group's name is actually in Arabic," Rafiq said. "The group's name is Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami. But the guy who wrote the letter [Abu Hanzla Kashir] misspelled the name in the two instances he used it," Rafiq said. "First, he wrote Harkat-e Jihad al-Islami (grammatically incorrect in both Arabic and Urdu); then, he wrote Harkat-e Jihad-e Islami (grammatically correct in Urdu, both not the official name)."

Found the supposed cell phone video of the aftermath of the strike in the apple orchard after death. No definitive evidence its him.

This seemed the most appropriate thread to add this news on Al Zawahiri..

Bin Laden Deputy Issues Eulogy Video

Al-Qaida's second in command has issued a message eulogizing the terrorist group's leader, Osama bin Laden, who was killed in a U.S. raid in Pakistan last month.

In a 28-minute video posted Thursday on militant websites, Ayman al-Zawahri said bin Laden terrified the United States while alive and would continue to do so in death.

Right on Que now that the 40 days of mourning are over, zawahiri is declared emir of al qaeda, and lists 7 talking points about their goals.

Qaeda : Al Qaeda General Command - Declaration of the Successor of Sheikh Usama bin Laden in the Leadership of Jama'ah Qa'idatul Jihad

This is what jihad was past the Day of Resurrection - as stated in the conversations - has become in this era of individual obligation against the infidel invaders, occupiers of Muslim lands and against the apostate rulers Alambdelan the laws of Islam - also unanimously agreed on that scholars of Islam - and what was good and the fulfillment of the martyrs of the righteous and the biography of Sheikh Mujahid Osama bin Laden is to continue on the path of jihad for the sake of God and the support of Muslims and the vulnerable, the General Command of the al-Qaida - and after the completion of consultation - declared when Sheikh Dr. Abu Muhammad Ayman al-Zawahiri and the jurisprudence of God the responsibility of command of the group, asking God to help him and help us and all Muslims to work Bhariath and stability on the right on the face, which pleases the Almighty is not altering Mbdelan.

Now you can expect to see more attacks happen.
Probably starting with more suicide attacks in Pakistan & Afghanistan, spreading from there.
They've had 40 days to set the stage and train for revenge.

The new inspire magazine #6 is out, and among other things in it, AQAP, umm, how did they say it?
Oh, yeah.
They will support zawahiri.

Not, he's the emir of AQ & we swear allegiance to him. No.
Just the minimal...they will support him. Infighting much?

Zawahiri will not be a popular leader.

Patiently waiting for zawahiri's response to the "AQAP threefer" the U.S. pulled off in Yemen right after the latest inspire mag was published.

al-Awlaki - Samir Khan - al-Asiri dead in one drone strike.

What say you zawahiri? Scared?
You got enough balls to risk a drone zap to publish a eulogy or something?
Sup?

************************************************************
Side Note:
Reports that
zawahiri led the U.S. to OBL.
OBL killed.

AQAP, (al-Awlaki), posted that they support zawahiri, but didn't acknowledge him as AQ #1.
al-Awlak killed.

zawahiri criticizes "inspire" magazine.
Samir Khan the editor of the mag killed.

Interesting pattern forming...

New al Zawahiri message says they have another U.S. hostage, Warren Weinstein.

www.google.com...

Al-Qaeda takes credit for kidnapping U.S. development expert Warren Weinstein

Weinstein, about 70 years old, had been working on a project in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal areas where Pakistani troops have been battling Islamist insurgents for years.

Zawahri said the group’s demands for Weinstein’s release included the release of all those held by the United States at the Guantanamo detention centre and all others imprisoned for ties to al-Qaeda or the Taliban.

He also demanded and an end to air strikes by the United States and its allies against militants in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia and Gaza.

Zawahri also demanded the release of high-profile militants including Ramzi Yousef, imprisoned in the United States for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, and Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, serving a life sentence for plotting to attack the United Nations headquarters and other New York City landmarks.
