Worms Fall from the Sky in Jennings

Jennings Police Department employee, Eleanor Beal was just crossing the street to go to work when something dropped from the sky.

The sky wasn't falling. She says it was worms, large tangled clumps of them.

Beal says, "When I saw that they were crawling, I said, 'It's worms! Get out of the way!'"

She even called her co-worker outside to prove she wasn't making it up.

Sure enough, she saw worms, and globs of them.

Where they came from is a mystery, but some believe that a water spout spotted less than five miles away at that same time near Lacassine Bayou could have something to do with it.

Eleanor Beal says she hopes she doesn't see it again.

That's bizarre, and yucky too. The funny thing about showers of worms, snails, frogs, fish or whatever else is that, even if it's a water spout that's caused it, it's only the one species that falls. If a wind scooped up some stuff from a swamp or pond or whatever you'd think there'd be a lot of different stuff falling from the air. Some weed, insect larvae, this and that and the next thing but it's not. It's always the same thing, that's why it crops up in crypto or paranormal discussions.

Where did they come from?

Thats a great point. I never really thought about it before you're right. It's never frogs and fish, just one or the other. Worms is a new one to me.

It could be possable that the various critters are 'sorted' and that is why they fall together. Take a small pond, it could have lots of frogs, a few fish and pond weed.

The fish would have different properties to the frogs, and both completly different to the weed.

So lots of frogs grouped together, few fish somwhere else and a random scattering of weed.

Is that daft?
