Yes. Animated avatars are allowed as long as they fall within the same size and file constraints.

(physical size can extend up to 400 pixels tall for images under 50k in file size)

Well .. it does fit within the size guidelines, but I think we've removed it in the past, under the blood and gore clause. It's cartoonish ... yes, but probably wouldn't stay up for long. ... just saying.

Is there a certain "style" or "image" you're looking to portray? I'd be happy to work something up for you.

Not really meaning to step on any toes, but...

The filesize on that image is considerably more than 50kb (71.1 KB) ... (The image height is 400 pixels)

Well there is, however...

Getting decent quality AND keeping within the filesize limits is nearly impossible in many instances. And sometime the effort is an exercise in futility in attempting to both meet the filesize requirements, as well as having good quality.

This is the primary reason why I have largely stopped offering to make animated .GIF avatars. Just to difficult *at best* to attempt the near-impossible.

It should work, that image is 150x150.


Make sure you copy the full url (listed there as "Avatar Image Code")

Then go to "Account Setting" here in the "Member Center"

And then make sure the box "Avatar Url" is empty before you paste the new url for that image. If there is anything there, highlight it and "Delete" it. Then you can paste the new url.

Then click on "Submit" on the bottom of the "Settings" page.

If all is well, you should see a preview of the avatar on the following page after you clicked "Submit".
