The United States took another step in restoring normal diplomatic relations with Libya on Wednesday when President Bush nominated a U.S. ambassador to the once-outcast nation.

The nomination must be confirmed by the Senate, where some lawmakers are pushing the administration to make Libya do more to account for past misdeeds.

I am really not to sure what to think of this. On one hand having diplomatic relations do me always seems to be a good idea. On the other it also seems all of the workers there will just be targets for terrorists. Despite that I will hold out hope that some good will come from this.
