BBC reports protesters in the southern Iraqi town
of Amarah had Iraqi police forces and British troops open fire on them as they gathered to protest for more jobs and to oppose a recently elected
government official.
The protestors began tossing rocks and explosives at the Iraqi police and British forces, which eventually led to a counter-attack by the British,
Iraqi forces. In the end, Amarah's hospital reported 6 protestors were reported dead with another 11 being injured.
