LORENZAGO DI CADORE, Italy - Pope Benedict XVI reasserted the primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says other Christian communities are either defective or not true churches and Catholicism provides the only true path to salvation.

The statement brought swift criticism from Protestant leaders. "It makes us question whether we are indeed praying together for Christian unity," said the World Alliance of Reformed Churches,

Now this really caught me off gaurd, The Pope is now saying that any other denomination of Christianity do not have the "means of salvation"? That they aren't true churches?

Why does he feel the need to isolate the Catholic Church from other Christian religious belief's?

Isn't this along the same lines as Islamic extremists?

This isnt anything new. Every religion says it's the "true" religion, they have the "true" God. Pfffft not worth the time to report it.
