The last straw: The reduction of Libby's sentence?
This latest move by the Bush admin is garish in its cockiness. "You can not touch us" is what Bush & Cheney are saying. This move is more
controversial than the more evil hidden moves of this administration because it is so public and defies a judge and jury.
I hope this shady act is the last straw which tips the balance of public opinion so far against Bush that impeachment is imminent.
Keith Olberman said it best in this recent 10 minute video asking for Bush/Cheney to step down and avoid impeachment. “At least Nixon had the
patriotism to know it was time to step down.”

I posted the same thing about 3 mins earlier, but yours contains more info. Mods feel free to close mine, since this has more related data.
---------
Just wanted to add my 2 cents from my previous post.
---------
It looks like not just Keith Oberman wants Bush impeached. With the Majority of Americans wanting Cheney out. So now what, do we proceed, could we
actually proceed with only 18 months left in his term? I for one think at trying would send a clear message to the next Commander and chief.

I wonder how many of the 50% could actually name an impeachable offense? My guess would be not too many. Baaaaaaa, baaaaaa.
Can anyone here name an impeachable offense?
Just because you hate Bush, and don't like his policies, that is not a reason.
Reasons for impeachment. Anyone?

Let me count the ways:
1. Stole the elections
2. Started a war under false pretenses
3. Disregard for our constitution- on all levels.
4. Thumbs his nose at the wishes of the people of the United States of America.
5. Criminal staff
6. Above the law
bla bla bla bla.....
You certainly know what he's done- you're alive and you watch tv, i'm sure.
Stop apologizing for the nut case.
Patriot act, the Decider who is a wanna be Dictator.
Violations of the Geneva Convention- Abuse**
bla bla bla bla bla
I'd provide links but its too late for that. We're linked out of all the crimes.

As an outsider looking in, all I can say is "what the hell has taken you people so long to see the BS and crap this administration has been feeding
you?"
Bush and Cheney are the new criminals guilty of crimes on a global scale and it takes a little misdemeanor by the President (granting clemency to
Libby's jail time) for you the people to start looking about at what's been transpiring.
Unfortunately, Libby's story still hasn't stirred as much media attention as Paris Hilton has!

However, it is not up to the public who is impeached, it is up to congress. Do you think enough of them will vote to impeach one or both of them? I
honestly don't think it will occur:
1. It will take far too long, Bush isn't in office that much longer.
1A. The House must first come to an agreement on which grounds that they wish to impeach the offical(s). Then off to the Senate...
1B. The Senate then holds the trial of those offical(s) who are to be impeached. Which can be a very long process and dragged out longer if need
be.
2. They then need a 2/3 vote for an impeachment after the hearings. The Dems don't have that much of a majority, but don't get me wrong, there are
Reps who would impeach Bush/Cheney.
Now lets put ourselves in the Dems position, If they get rid of both Bush and Cheney, Pelosi, a Dem, will be president. Now it dosn't sound bad, but
stratigically the Dems can garentee themselves a presidential spot if Bush keeps messing things up.
Alot of the people who run the country would rather wait out the rest of Bush's term and snag the four year term, then trying to fix the country when
it actually needs to be fixed. They don't want to run the risk of taking the presidential seat for a few month's, make one mistake and then lose
the four year term.
This is just my opinion, but clearly they need to be impeached, better yet they should impeach themselves after they impeach Bush/Cheney for taking so
damn long, for allowing the president to step over our rights, for ruining any relations we had with other countries, and starting an illegal war
which is not only killing innocent Iraqi's but our own line of defense.

FF, you're busting my chops.
Lets just say the man is less than honest, highly disliked by the majority of the American people, a warmonger, hatemonger, ...starts wars by telling
the masses lies, is an Illuminati and wants the NWO, wants a dictatorship, only if he can be the dictator. Is responsible for killing thousands of
our men and women (whom you support), so do i, the only difference is I WANT THEM ALIVE. Is responsible for abuse at overseas jails (dogs and private
parts) Remember?
I'd go on but there is no point.
The man is really a saint- he's never had his pants down in the oval office.
BTW,. i hate arguing with ya because you're my playmate.
I could be totally wrong, but i personally do not care for the monkey.

Why would anyone want to impeach bush, let him finnish out his term. Do you want Chaney to be the President, i sure don't. And i don't think Nancy
"Streach" Polosi would be any better, no in fact im sure she would be worse much much worse, so bad that the Dems would have ZERO chance in 2 years.
Mabye thats what it would take to get an independent elected.
All and all i htink that going throught the impeachment process would be a waste of time and resoucres.

Reasons for impeachment. Anyone?
[edit on 6-7-2007 by RRconservative]
Perhaps the administrative office of the president, being even mildly accused of treason, let alone perjury, is reason enough to question the ability
of the president and vice-president to lead your country effectively and positively. Just look at the track record of them and the staff they hired!
Firing 8 US Attorneys
Funeralgate
Libby
Rove
Enron
And for good measure:

Cheney is the
first one who has to be kicked out of that office, followed by the President, followed by their cronies.
An empty White House sounds good at the moment.

Does it really matter if they could name an impeachable offense? The fact half the country wants to throw him out of office, Not just dislike or have
issues with his policy, Throw him and even more so Dick Cheney out of office. Thats the real story , even the right wants Cheney out since more then
50% want him out. This isn't about left or right, people with these agendas make me ill. Its about that this country has gone down the tube both here
and abroad. We are the laughing stock of other countries and instead of keep our economy correct , or keeping us out of debt while real econmic issue
from other countries (China for one) are going to come back and haunt us. We go fight a war based on lies.
If you love this country act like it, and support this country not some man who has ruined it.

I think if congress actually launched a full-scale investigation on Bush/Cheney, they would find more than enough to impeach both of them. But per the
above comments, being 1.5 yrs from the end of the reign of terror, what's the point. By the time the investigation is done, and the impeachment trail
is finished, it turns out to be nothing more than a waste of taxpayers money. The war will still go on, billions will still be spent, and they'll
still have control of the country until the next president takes over.
Don't think for one second that I'm defending the arrogant, idiotic people in our government. I have no confidence in the Democrats, or the
Republicans. When I see Bush or Cheney speak on tv, my blood begins to boil at what they've done to our country. I'm not saying that any other
presidents didn't do anything wrong, they just didn't do it nearly as bad.
I think that when the presidential approval rating drops below a certain number, the current president should get the collective US boot in the a$$.

Clearly good terms and thoughts, Reform America.
Mr Bush has only a bit to go less more disastrous actions, and well, let's at least consider he may just be pardoned by the next United States
President for punitive impeachment measures taken by the House & Senate.

I ask for reasons to Impeach, and I get the typical
Barbara Striesand responses.
Fired attorneys - Bush fired 8, Clinton fired 96, why didn't Clinton get any slack over this?
Libby - Bush has pardoned 6 people, Clinton pardoned hundreds, 120 of them in his last week in office.
Iraq intelligence on WMD's - Alot of this intelligence came from a Clinton gutted CIA, and Clinton's CIA director George Tenet.
Iraq War - This was a UN approved and Congress appoved, heck even Mrs. Bill Clinton voted for it.
Enron - Give me a break, Enron ran wild during the Clinton years, it took the Bush administration to clean up Wall Street. Remember after 9/11 when
the Dow was around 7,000? Today it is at 13,600. Tax cuts and stricter rules for Wal Street made the difference.
Wiretapping - A lawsuit concerning this was just thrown out of court. Spying on our enemies during wartime should never be restricted.
Stolen Elections - ALGORE didn't lose the Presidency because of Florida. He lost because he couldn't win the electoral votes from his HOME state
of Tennessee. Pathetic!
Once again, calling for Impeachment with no valid reasons will not fly. Dream on!

Does anyone here know what is required for Impeachment?
Sure does not look that way...
You may not like his actions, but that does not make it illegal...
You may pervert the names of all of his actions to suit your own prejudice, that does not make it illegal...
You may think it is illegal, that also does not make it illegal...
Give your vile hatred a rest will ya? He only has a short time to go and then one of your liberal, socialists can get in office and begin the downfall
of this great nation...
Get your prayer rugs ready...

An impeachment of Bush/Cheney holds far more water then the attempted impeachment of Bill Clinton.

The downfall happened around the time when we went to Iraq and ruined any relations we had in the Middle East. Now many countries dislike America
because of the arrogance that seems to come from the right wing. If you wish to say something stupid by implying all liberals are socialist, then I
will make a rebutal just as ignorant and stupid and say, all conservatives marry their sisters.

At least there was an actual reason for Clinton's Impeachment. You may not like the reason, but it was based on legality. Clinton's perjury charge
is the reason he can no longer practice law. Not that he needs to, being he makes millions off of the speeches he gives, but it does gives credence
to the Articles of Impeachment filed against him.
There are no such charges that are even close to being legitimate that would warrant impeachment for Bush. If something trivial is brought up as a
reason for impeachment, then every President from now on will face this situation.
BTW you stated "attempted impeachment" Make no mistake about it...Clinton WAS impeached...but was not removed from office.
