Who didn't see this one coming, with all of the pro-western positions Musharraf has taken I,m suprised he is still alive. I guess it's just a matter of time before they get him though.

He's already been targeted multiple times already. So I'm not surprise about this attack. Especially since his policies deal with capturing and killing Al Qaeda, Taliban and their sympathizers. Not to mention the recent event where Musharraf agreed to let the U.S. go into Pakistani territory to target Al Qaeda. Of course secretly the military and the CIA has been doing it for awhile. But thats with Predator drones.

You have only to look how the man came into power, to envision the way he is going to go out.

True enough InterWeb. But he came on line shortly after 9/11 to help with the war on terror and that in itself may just cost the President his life or eventually his position in Pakistan.

And when they do get him, we will be faced with a fundamental Islamist country nuked up to the teeth, submarines and all. Nuclear Proliferation will go nuts between them and Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, etc. That's kinda what already happened with A Q Khan. There have been reports of leading Pakistani Nuke Scientists being sent to Iran 5 or 6 years ago.

Since they're hiding OBL up in Waziristan, I wander if he might be involved in the coup/assassination attempts. He would be the peoples choice for a leader in that country for sure. Talk about a nightmare scenario, OBL with all those nukes!

Exactly, Musharaff might be a ruthless dictator but hes better then the other option of an Islamic fundamentalist state.

IMO, its only a matter of time before he is killed/overthrown and then were going to be having some serious trouble. I mean hes already used up more lives then a cat ...
