Not sure if this has been discussed before or even if it warrants discussion at all.

Is there any way to see the originating date for a post before opening it up?

Exp. If I go into 'Recent Posts' and scan through the threads, the only date displayed is the last post date, not the originating date.

I usually look at the amount of responses to give some sort of idea how long the post has been up.

This is hard to follow sometimes as posts can gain momentum very quickly
and accumulate several pages of responses.

Some thread titles resemble others and make it hard to ascertain which is current and which 'not so current'.

Say if a bombing occurred somewhere in the world, followed by another, and possibly another. I would not know which post to go to first unless the titles were labeled correctly.

Any suggestions? ( other than never leave ATS:lol

The only way I can think of is if you knew the original posters name, then do a search for posts by that member.

They will be listed chronologically.

Thanks for the input Mechanic, but it may be just as gruelling as to click on the thread.

( was hoping for a magic button fix, or maybe a 'we will look into it' from the powers that be )

I'm thinking it may just be a pet peeve of mine, doesn't appear to bother anyone else.
