Question about something from 1974/75

When I was in 6th grade(1974/75) I remember a UFO movie/documentary that was in theaters that was being advertised on TV. I never saw the movie so all I remember about it was what I saw on the clips for it on TV. Anyway one of the claims was, that there was a date that "aliens' would return to earth and make themselves known worldwide. If my memroy is correct it was supposed to be on December 24/25 in 2012/2024/2029 or somewhere in there.

Does anybody know the name of this movie and or some of the info that was in it regarding this?

Is that a portion of a longer movie?
The one I'm talking about was a feature length movie.

I'm really just curious about the date that was mentioned for the return of the "aliens", as I can't remember the year.
