I've just gone through the source code of the 214 page Pentagon thread. I did not find a clue there.

Hey guys, sorry it seemed like I abandoned you all, work for some reason takes the precedence...

Anyhoo, I have read up from the last post (14 I think is where I left off) and will have at least a couple hours today to help with more searching.

Kudos to Mech and everyone else going back through the first set of clues and re-confirming, I had no clue about the 'this post' link-to, or I would have surely been doing it in that format.

*edit* NVM, I am leaving right now and will be back later tonight, oohhh the torture.... Good luck you guys!

I looked through that thread yesterday, but i skipped right over the quote boxes. I wonder if that's why we are having trouble with the last couple clues, perhaps they are in odd places within the threads we have already searched. Nice job!

I'm using firefox and searching the html code for the button. I don't login, that way I don't see the 'quote' and 'REPLY' buttons when searching.

I'm sure if I didn't do this, I would have continued to miss it. I searched that thread quite a bit yesterday.

Also, given the new letter, I have this phrase as a possibility.

"All the conspiracies are presented by ------"

Looking for last letter in second set to see if it makes sense.

Nice catch, Free' !

Guess I need to check back to the game thread more often.
would have saved myself an hour of scrollin'.

I went through that thread yesterday, too.

I take it you found it with a code search, rather than visually?

A letter IN a quote box! First one of those, correct?

I wonder if they're adapting the game as we go.

Of course thay are adapting it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see future letters hidden in signature lines, next to the real buttons on the page, etc.

They definitely have some tricks up their sleeves.

Now with this next image, is there more hidden text, or should we take the question posed at face value, and there in nothing else there??

Any thoughts....

I saved it as a bitmap and tried to use paint to overlay the halves. They don't overlay. So, I don't know if a more advanced photo editor would work.

Or, could it be that these are the clues to the questions to come (we'll see them later) and that the letters we've found so far answer this question?

I'm leaning towards the latter on this.

I think that the last image tells us that the answer to the question "What is the root...?" is the phrase combined from anagram #1 and #2..

Seems quite logical:

"All the conspiracies are presented by..." "...people who don't belive" or something..
Just my 0.02

Will try something

Ive tried dseveral ways of overlaying the image in quadrants. (four sections)

Since the image is named 4444, it leads me to believe that I am on the right track in regards to the image being divided into four pieces.

I just cant figure out how to get those four pieces to line up and give coherent text.

Whoever sliced and diced this image ought to be either working with NSA, or just be shot by the common folk, trying to figure it out.

Assuming that the first anagram is correct, and the second has a missing SPACE character (3 words), here's an interesting list:

wordsmith.org...

Tried a few suspicious ones, no luck..

Here's a stupid thought. What if rearranging the clues by date/time gives us the length of each word in the clue that will solve this puzzle. I don't think the current clue is going to be editable. I can imagine finding all of these letters and then not using them to spell out the answer.

I know we did this a few pages back, but some clues from the first set have not been identified.

I don't believe that will lead anywhere. I tried it, as well as another member (forget who)...

Anyway, here are the letters recovered thus far, for those just joining in:

1. tniapc*oel_eA_lch_sirs_ar

2. *_e_eewbprsayndthged

Underscore represents spaces.

Asterisk indicates unknown character.

Haha.. I nearly got it.. still working on it.. but you can clearly see some of the words::

"the silence of the moderate(?) muslims, argue.." something.. now we're 100% sure that the image contains more threads...

Working on it...

What are you using to work with the picture.

Are you working with it as a *gif or *.bmp file.
