The Bush administration has quietly withdrawn a 400-member military team it sent to Baghdad to scour Iraq for evidence of unconventional weapons, write Conor O'Clery in New York & Deagln de Bradn in Dublin.

The move indicates that the US does not now expect to find illegal weapons, the main reason given by President Bush for the war last year that toppled Saddam Hussein.

www.ireland.com...

Carnegie Endowment :
"The Bush administration will today be accused of systematically misrepresenting the threat posed by "Iraq's weapons of mass destruction" in a comprehensive report on post-war findings.
The report, by four experts on weapons proliferation at the respected Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, is likely to reignite calls for acommission to look into the government's pre-war intelligence claims.

According to the report, the absence of any imminent threat from Saddam Hussein's chemical or nuclear programmes was "knowable" before the war. There was greater uncertainty over biological weapons but no evidence strong enough to justify war.

The authors say the intelligence reports of Iraq's capabilities grew more shrill in October 2002 with the publication of a National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), which included an unusual number of dissenting views by intelligence officials.

So where are the Republicans/Conservatives/Bush supporters who screamed for Clinton's hide over a BJ lie, thought $70 million & the time of 100's of Agents investigating it , to reach that only conclusion, was money well spent & it that it was all necessary?

Will you have the honor to scream down this administration for the outright lies they've told that have:
- put us into a McWar
- Wasted of $87 Billion of our taxes
- Wasted the lives of over 500+ of our service men

??????

If not, I think we need not hear from you on any subject of patriotism, much less how there are no "real choices" among the Dems. To make the Bush choice is to sell your country out with full knowledge, not the innocence of mere back porch party politics.

The pulling out of the WMD search team in no way implies that Bush lied - it just means they know for sure Saddams WMD is elsewhere and will soon be found.

Also your idea that Bush supporters should feel bad about dissing Clinton for lies on BJ would also require you to admit Clinton was telling lies to Portugals Prime Minister when he said Iraq had WMD and that Clinton colluded with Bush on war. - here the link for ya:

sq.news.yahoo.com...

Saddams WMD appears to be located in Syria or Lebanons Bekaa Valley - heres another link for ya:

www.debka.com...

This is Debkas latest article on this subject but if you search their site you will discover they have been reporting on Iraqs WMD movement prior to Gulf II.

There are many other sites on internet where this info is available. To save time and space I only listed a couple.

Yes I do question the Patriotism of others who do not support the ongoing effort to control Terrorists and Dictators that want to see the downfall of the US.

PS: The 87 Billion was not all to aid Iraq and I wish people would do a little research before quoting misleading numbers, as I have been able to find out about 51 Bil. was for ongoing operations in country, 10 Bil. was for operations Afganistan, 18.6 Bil. is for actual rebuilding in Iraq, 500 mil. was for CONUS disaster relief, 245 Bil. was for Liberian peace mission. I know this does'nt quite add up to 87 Bil - the rest was probably spend on congressional pork.

Good grief. He lies every day. What kind of corrupt idiot do you think you are defending anyway? How embarrassing for you and your view of patriotism.

In the search for Iraq WMDs beyond Iraq, are you sure the search isn't for the US's WMDs that created this whole mess in the first place?

155. Ari said the evidence by the UN inspectors of a missile site which could travel beyond UN limitations was a breach. Iraq said it varied in distance according to payload. Russian authority said it was reported to the UN. The extra distance was minimal. It could go 120 miles which will just about make it a Serious Security Risk for America?.
156. Newsday-2-23-03-Bush and Ari lied whey they said the Blue Chip Forecast showed the economy would grow at 3.3% this year if Bush tax cut is passed. Randall Moore editor of Blue Chip denied the claim. Why do these BOYS keep making such false claims? White House personnel became almost hysterical in trying to spin it.

164. Paul Krugman-NY Times-2-25-03-Presdient Vincente Fox of Mexico felt betrayed by his good buddy Bushlite. 165. Wash. Post 2-26-03-I have not made up my mind on war (slaughtering ). John Bolton, Undersecretary of State said We are going ahead UN or no UN. It is already final? I am a leader? I am in charge? I will make the decision?.

The budget returned to deficit because of War, Recession and emergencies associated with the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11. Whoever wrote the Fact Sheet did not look at Historical tables volume of White house budget. Page 5 read: An economic slowdown began in 2001 and was exacerbated by the terrorists attack of September 11. The deterioration in the performance of the economy came together with income tax relief provided to help offset the economic slowdown and additional spending in response to the terrorist attacks produced a drop in the surplus to 127.1 billion and a return to deficits in 2002.

Honor,Dignity and Integrity. It got lost somehow.
A great source of Bush lies is Sam Parry article of 11-4-02 in www.consortiumnews.com headed Bushs Life of Deception.
172. The Education as number one priority has slipped through the cracks. The 2004 Budget of Bush eliminated 45 educational programs. A total of 1.6 Billion. Regional Educational Laboratories( $ 67.5 million). Leveraging Educational Asst. Partnerships( $ 67 million). Preparing teachers to use technology ( $ 62.5 million). Community Service of expelled students ( $ 50 million). Parental Asst. Info. Centers ( $ 40 million). Physical Education Programs ( $ 50 million). Community Technology Centers( $ 32.5 millon). Fund for the Improvement of Education was cut by( $ 361 million). Source is Report by House Budget Committee (Democratic Caucus-John Spratt Jr.) 2-4-03 : "this c- student a loose in land of learning! .
173. NY Times-3-10-03Elizsabeth Rumiller-Antiwar Clerics wonder if Bush hears their call. Cardinal Pio Laghi a peace emissary sent by the Pope John Paul II to meet with Bush said he was told he could not talk to reporters in the White House driveway where microphones are routinely set up for visitors to the Oval Office. (Ari Fleischer said it was not true. Cardinal Laghi held a press conference anyway. Will you believe emissary from Pope or Ari?).
174.Harpers magazine-Weekly Review-3-4-03 : "Bush administration officials hinted Russia might have a hard time collecting its Iraqi debts, if it fails to support Bush war plans. (Other security council members were being told they would pay a heavy price for refusing to support Bush. Ari said in effect that they were all lying).

He said I just cited an example of the administration just unilaterally acting without any input. (The Forest Service conducted 600 public meetings.) (Like Father like son I will do (or say) anything to win. GHW Bush in 1992.).
176. Bush said during the debate Our water in Texas is cleaner now. The Sierra Club said The discharge of industrial toxic pollution into surface waters in Texas increased from 23.2 million pounds in 1995 to 25.2 million pounds in 1998 the last year of available data (Bush hiding it?).
177. Bush said: I do not need polling to tell me what to think. NBC News 10-6-00 reported Bush spent over one million dollars on polling during his campaign. It was widely reported that during first two years in the White House over one million per year was spent on polling as much as Clinton spent over first two years.
Who cares what you think. He must have meant it for all Americans.
Reporter-Writer Sam Parry writes Bushs growing record of lies, both big and small, suggest something perhaps more troubling. His personal history of heavy drinking, drug use, carousing, disappearances from military duty, repeated business failures and political hypocrisies -- combined with his ability to avoid ever paying a significant price for his deceptions - have given him a sense of his own infallibility.
Paul Krugman-NY Times-(on wmnf-fm-tampa 2-26-03)-The Bush administrations level of irresponsibility and dishonesty is unprecedented. Amen! .
.
Washington Post Editorial on Bush Tax Cut: Mr. Bush must know how phony his averages are. Anytime a salesman has to resort to such deceptive tactics, the customer ought to be wary about what is being sold.
Dennis Hans writes:I review below 23 techniques of deception of Bush and his foreign-policy team..178. Colin before UN: My colleagues, every statement I make today is backed up by sources, solid sources. These are not assertions. What we are giving you are facts and conclusions based on solid intelligence. (Powell presented now discredited presentations of bogus tales based on discredited defectors , tortured captives, photos and tape recordings that proved little or nothing. Wild speculation. A fine British dossier built on plagiarized essays with 12 year old revelations and so on.).
179. Powell makes strong claims about Iraqs retention and development of non-conventional weapons. Instead of providing proof Powell produced photos of al-Taji ammunition storage facility. BT, you Dems keep on wanting to think it was about a BJ; in the spirit of truth, be honest and admit that it wasn't just that. Your attempting to assert that doesn't make any truer and you know that.

As far as the article goes, let's see how long it takes to see it in domestic news sources. And, let's see what else unfolds, as Phoenix has pointed out some good possibilities.

I know, you are really wanting Bush to fall on his face, but let's wait to see it happen before we declare it an actuality.

Yeah, yeah.....the game is still afoot, bet on it.

I defintiely agree with this article though:

"If The Bush Administration Lied About WMD, So Did These People"
Link:
www.rightwingnews.com...

"Since we haven't found WMD in Iraq yet, a lot of the anti-war/anti-Bush crowd is claiming that the Bush administration lied about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. The story being floated now is that Saddam had no WMD (or almost none) and that the Bush administration didn't tell the truth about the WMD threat.

Well, if they're going to claim that the Bush administration lied, then there sure are a lot of other people, including quite a few prominent Democrats, who have told the same lies since the inspectors pulled out of Iraq in 1998. Here are just a few examples of what I'm talking about...

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." -- From a letter signed by Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara A. Milulski, Tom Daschle, & John Kerry among others on October 9, 1998

"This December will mark three years since United Nations inspectors last visited Iraq. There is no doubt that since that time, Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to refine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer- range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies." -- From a December 6, 2001 letter signed by Bob Graham, Joe Lieberman, Harold Ford, & Tom Lantos among others

"Saddam's goal ... is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed." -- Madeline Albright, 1998

"Iraq made commitments after the Gulf War to completely dismantle all weapons of mass destruction, and unfortunately, Iraq has not lived up to its agreement." -- Barbara Boxer, November 8, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retained some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capability. Intelligence reports also indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons, but has not yet achieved nuclear capability." -- Robert Byrd, October 2002

"What is at stake is how to answer the potential threat Iraq represents with the risk of proliferation of WMD. Baghdad's regime did use such weapons in the past. Today, a number of evidences may lead to think that, over the past four years, in the absence of international inspectors, this country has continued armament programs." -- Jacques Chirac, October 16, 2002

"The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." -- Bill Clinton in 1998

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security." -- Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002

"I am absolutely convinced that there are weapons...I saw evidence back in 1998 when we would see the inspectors being barred from gaining entry into a warehouse for three hours with trucks rolling up and then moving those trucks out." -- Clinton's Secretary of Defense William Cohen in April of 2003

"Iraq is not the only nation in the world to possess weapons of mass destruction, but it is the only nation with a leader who has used them against his own people." -- Tom Daschle in 1998

"Saddam Hussein's regime represents a grave threat to America and our allies, including our vital ally, Israel. For more than two decades, Saddam Hussein has sought weapons of mass destruction through every available means. We know that he has chemical and biological weapons. He has already used them against his neighbors and his own people, and is trying to build more. We know that he is doing everything he can to build nuclear weapons, and we know that each day he gets closer to achieving that goal." -- John Edwards, Oct 10, 2002

"I share the administration's goals in dealing with Iraq and its weapons of mass destruction." -- Dick Gephardt in September of 2002

"Iraq does pose a serious threat to the stability of the Persian Gulf and we should organize an international coalition to eliminate his access to weapons of mass destruction. Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to completely deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." -- Al Gore, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." -- Bob Graham, December 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." -- Ted Kennedy, September 27, 2002

"I will be voting to give the president of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." -- John F. Kerry, Oct 2002

I could go grab about 20 quotes of repub's doing the exact same thing ..so really its about character and passion for the subject....not really about political affiliation..but thats just my opinion..

yes. he did. but he never said it. this is what he said. Without Gores bill the internet would not be commercial.

BLITZER: I want to get to some of the substance of domestic and international issues in a minute, but let's just wrap up a little bit of the politics right now.

Why should Democrats, looking at the Democratic nomination process, support you instead of Bill Bradley, a friend of yours, a former colleague in the Senate? What do you have to bring to this that he doesn't necessarily bring to this process?

GORE: Well, I will be offering -- I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be.

But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.

good info here but it's old.

Hind sight is 20/20--600 million tax payer dollars wasted on searching for WMD in Iraq. Goodness, he should've planted some. We all supposed he would. No one actually believed that WMD crap anyways. Those that did or still do are horribly gullible. I mean, with the neo-cons paper trail we have to know this was policy waiting for the right climate. WMD was just an excuse, a very costly one at that.

Yes but the real reason was God told him to strike Saddam.

According to Abbas, immediately thereafter Bush said: God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them. >>Haaretz: `Road map is a life saver for us, PM Abbas tells

While I agree that the WMD issue seems to be at this moment a failed intelligence effort by both the international community and by our agencies here stateside. Does that mean we wont find any? Not at all....but the chances probably are slim. Is it Bushs fault we had bad intelligence and the UN stated that over 7500 tonnes of WMDs were still unaccounted for in Iraq? Hardly. Blame who you will, but this was a international blunder on intelligence, granted the WMD's were not moved or are hiding in some spiderhole.

People who want to go on about the 2000 election need to wake up and get with reality. Gore lost, any way you want to spin it, the truth is Gore lost and he lost democratically.

Gore may have voted for commercializing the internet, but so did many other congressmen, poiliticians. So do take credit for it solely when he didnt write the Bill he specified to is basically IMO the same as plagerism. Taking credit for someone elses proposals. So even though he may of voted on the issue, he never wrote the specific Bill.

DD if I ever get really bored I will debunk most of what you wrote on Bush above.....But then I would need about a week of time to actually look up facts, instead of copy and pasting from a left wing website to form my own opinion instead of relying on what others tell me to believe. Its always easy to copy and paste others thoughts, but its much more expedient and intelligent to form your own opinion on every issue instead of cloning your beliefs to every internet junkie who makes a website hating Bush which include obvious inaccuracies in their writings.

If you think that is the only reason you are losing it. Bush doesnt make these policies on his own. If I told you that I heard on the internet that god told Bush, "Make love to a purple donkey in Istanbul." would you believe it?

DD, I only made a small comment on the 2000 election in that specific post. I am just sick of hearing about it and the mis-use of facts surrounding it. The rest of my post was generally the arguement over Gore's Internet comment.
