Iran & Venezuela: Anti-U.S. Alliance Forming...

english.aljazeera.net

Chavez arrived in Tehran on Saturday for a two-day stay after visits to Russia and Belarus where he has tried to consolidate political opposition to the US.

Chavez and Ahmadinejad are expected to sign a number of agreements including the construction of 7,000 houses, a petrochemical plant and a vocational training centre in Venezuela.

In addition to their anti-US stance, the two countries enjoy warm ties and co-operation in the energy sector.

Diplomatic cooperation between two of the U.S. greatest enemies. Trading resources, technology, and infrastructure.
Great, now if we go to war with Iran, we have to fight on two fronts.... down in Venezuela also.

It is the Cuban Missile Crisis all over again Imagine Iran smuggling missiles into Venezuela under the guise of petrol equipment. Now Iran has missiles or nukes in Venezuela.... residents of Florida and Texas practice duck and cover.... and history repeats itself. On and On...

Venezuela is only cooperating with Iran because it is a major oil exporter like itself and
because it does'nt particulalry like the Bush administration or what our government has done.

Honestly I don't think Chavez trusts or really like Amedinejad or the Iranian government,
but it's more like a making a deal with a lesser evil to go against a greater evil.

Also, I seriously doubt we would actually go to war with Venezeula.

Chavez will trust, deal and cooperate with Iran until we have new administration. Only a new administration might be able to sway Chavez's nefarious alliances, however even so it might already be too late. Chavez is unlikely to change his anti American govt stance even if there is a party change, I feel that he and others who think like him do not see political party change as a significant enough change to affect American foreign policy.

Chavez is just another castro, they just don't like the U.S. because it interferes with their vision of a "global revolution".

China, Russia, Iran and some others also would like the U.S. to be out of the equation so they can achieve their goals. For China it is taking control of Taiwan, for Russia, is having the U.S. leave it's allies in Europe and then those allies could only turn to Russia and have to do whatever the Russian government says. For Iran and some other Islamic countries is being able to get rid of Israel and controlling all of the Middle East.

Chavez is neither a good man, nor a good president, and Ahmadinejad is in the same league as Chavez.
