Hi everyone I just came across a new news artical about the CN tower.
It has been confirmed that they have installed new flashing lights all along the CN tower.

Here is the link to the artical and a few pictures:

The link does not seem to work.

Apart from that, will the addition of such lights have a negative or positive effect and
what are your thoughts on it?

Here's a link that works.

It's awfully nice looking. Very sharp at night.

I'll be at my sons apartment in Toronto next week, so I can't wait to see it.

Looks awesome.

Maybe I can get some good night shots and post them here.

Well I heard that the lights are envirmently friendly and dont use electrity.
I think the lights will look pretty cool at night because you can see them from far away.

Um... don't use electricity? I think you might have mistyped that.

As for how it looks, I don't like it. It has a stench of Vegas all over it.
I hope they're not planning to keep it like that, I want my tower back.

Ahhhh pretty. Look at the pretty lights, Daddy. Get with the world people! Global warming is REAL. EVERY watt of electricity generated by fossil fuel contributes to greenhouse.
The lights are in place solely to extract more money from the pockets of the gullible and put it into the pockets of the obscenely rich.
Don't fall for their hype. Campaign against unnecessary energy expenditure - it's your future they are poisoning.

Perhaps it uses green/renewable energy like its own solar power system.

Its lighting system may be energy efficient as well.

Yes as a species we need to use less energy, or atleast be more energy efficient in our use,
but we are not going to give up everything that uses energy that is'nt essential.

That would be a rather boring world and would.

This is just begging Al-Quaeda to attack it now. I agree with the other post it looks cheap and Las Vegas like.

It kinda looks like Las Vegas.
Not sure if that's good or bad.

Bah. What an eyesore. I don't mind if they dress it all up in Green and Red during December, or Orange during October, but this!?! Yeesh. Take em down please!
