New Hampshire on Wednesday rejected the federal Real ID Act as tantamount to requiring a national ID card, joining five other states in opposing it.

So when the Real ID goes into effect all the people currently residing in New Hampshire who do not have a Real ID or a drivers license meeting the 'national standard' will not be allowed to board a plane or enter a federal building?

Yep, all these people will apparently need a federal passport.

Doesn't seem like it's that great of a thing for its citizens to me.

No it's not, it's also ironical that everyone will need to a get a US passport which is just as "intrusive and expensive" as this new ID.
Whatever floats your boat I guess...
