What in the world is going on here?

I have a suggestion: Since the kids are home from school and obviously have nothing better to do than post nonsense,
is there anyway we can lock the membership to this website for a couple of months?

I know its not policy but those crazy posts by new members just keep coming and coming.

What do you suppose we do about the crazy posts made by old members?

And forgo the annual whack-a-mole hunt for the mods?

I know what you're saying DG, believe me I KNOW. However you can't close membership to everyone because of a few bored kids. That's not fair.

Hmm, Rap Knuckles Nun. There's a good moniker for a Hip Hop chick.

Survival of the fittest, says I. Give a banhammer ass-whuppin' to the worst offenders, maybe warnings to those who we think can improve, etc. But don't close membership. That smacks of kneejerkism.

So for the time being, just like every other year when these threads pop up about the summer hoaxing that starts, this too shall pass. We are getting bigger and better every day, and with that will come more crazy threads/posts. That's part of why the staff is here. Tell us what's going on, and we'll do our best to fix it.

Hey we live in tabloid newspaper world, and your complaining about this and that threads. Look in the world and you will find as much weirdness there.

Well I got a heated debate yesterday by an old dear member that happens to be very afraid of what I let me quote (spew) in the boards now that the littler kids are going to be browsing the boards.

I am too unpatritotic for their littler ears.

Dg we have to be nice to the littler ones after all we are their elders.

I have two replies:

1) As a member registered here for 4 and a half years, trust me, it'll pass.

2) As a senior member of staff, trust me, anyone posting with the intent of being disruptive won't last very long.

Or how about re-instating the thing where you have to apply for membership? I would be happy to help read all the applications if it meant we could have a bit of sense round here.
