As far as I know, artificial diamonds look nothing like the natural ones.... On a TV show, they made diamonds out of burnt toast. The 'diamond' was black. They needed a microscope to see them.

the process used to make synthetic diamonds do have flaws called inclusions and i doubt their color rating is as clear as it is made out to seem.
