Hello everyone. I don't usually post much on BTS, but I thought it would be a good place to get some info.

Basically, I'm wanting to move to the USofA, specifically Texas. I am aware of the legal hoops that you have to jump through to emmigrate, and I have that under control. I am re-registering as a nurse soon, and am using this to get a work visa.

The trouble is, I don't know much about the state. I don't know where is a decent place to live, which I need to know before I can start the application process. This takes years, so I want to get cracking on it.

I was hoping that a few BTSers from the Lone Star State could give me their opinions on their experiences in different areas. Cheers.

I don't know too much about Texas except I have heard Austin is the most progressive (jobs, etc.) city in Texas.

My dad lived in San Antonio for a few years when I was a kid, and that truly is a beautiful city.

I'd recommend looking into going there.

en.wikipedia.org...

edit:

Plus it must have a good hospital since my dad was a doctor and was there to intern as a plastic surgeon.

AVOID WEST TEXAS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Move to Houston, you'll make top pay as a nurse there, big medical complexes there!

and Houston rocks!

just don't go any further west than Austin, and you'll be fine.

cuz really its either Austin or Houston imo.

Dallas, is ok but Dallas is dirty!

H-Town all the way!

San Antonio kinda sucks, on the real.
