Well according to this link (read the June 28, 2007 update) this story lost a hole lot aof credibility.

Nope. He states in his interview that it was launched from the AFB.
Personally I don't see that as a problem when it comes to the validity of the story. The best way of hiding something is to do it in plain view.
launching a saturn v was a very big deal. it took unbelievable support hardware and infrastructure... its not like launching a missile at all. to put
all that on an island somewhere would be outrageously impractical, and the launch would still be visible for hundreds of miles in all directions, and
would even show up on seismic equipment. if it were launched from the states it would be no secret ever, in any way.
launches were not routine and would get plenty of press coverage if one went up unannounced, if that were possible. the activity prepping for a launch
is something very hard to conceal... this whole story has some very big holes to account for. the launch being one of the biggest.

Did this story ever have credibility? The poorly done video alone should have exposed this as a hoax instantly, not to mention the
aforementioned problems with a "secret" launch of a Saturn V vehicle.
