Not going to go into great detail on this subject, but there are a few of us here at ATS who were involved in the VA stolen laptop incident, we had info that "may" have been compromised.

Well after getting letters in the mail, informing us that we are at risk, then saying just to be safe. The VA now decides, that they are going to release a statement about resolving the issue. The time gap is a horrable example of the beast being too slow to fix the burden. The government either don't really care and don't want to fix the issue, or they are just plain dumb, as a whole.

What are some of your opinions on this? Mine is as stated below.

A task force of some kind should have been established and set upon resolving the whole incident. See quoted section for highlight of report;

SUMMARY: This document establishes regulations to address data breaches regarding sensitive personal information that is processed or maintained by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Sorry to see you got caught up in this.

As for myself, I saw the runaround the VA gave
my dad, and thought it utterly inane to treat Vets
in such a manner.

Therefore, when I ETS'ed I wiped my hands clean
and got civilian insurance. I don't and won't get
involved with the VA.

Maybe that seems a tad jaded, but it's how I feel.

Regards,
Lex
