read the dictionary just to learn new words? and i don't mean when you're working a cross word puzzle or when you need to know what one particular word means. i mean just open it up to a random page and just read definition after definition. anyone?

I have and do often. I've got a great set of Encyclopaedia Brittanicas and I keep them on a shelf at the end of the hall, by the bathroom. When I'm going to be in there for a few...you know...I just grab a random book.

It's not a bad habit, either.

So that probably means that you have several dozen ways to say that you were "doing your business" in there.

Dictionaries are good, as well as encyclopedias. But also, I like to read through a thesaurus as well.

Yeah that dictionary is a long story and quite hard to read, but at least it explains every word.

I also like to read while taking a Brad Pitt.

I can honestly say I have never done that once in my entire life.
