i live in richmond illinois, outside of mchenry, close to the wisconsin border (far northwest suburbs)
my friend and i were out back on his patio, and he mentioned that the space shuttle might be seen(north west sky)
but what we saw was not a space shuttle!
we had a pair of high quality binoculars with us.
i saw this thing thru them
moving very fast, cigar shaped, one white light on the front and one in the back, moving very fast, you could see the outline of it
but by the lights, could tell it was very high up.
if it was traveling at the height of a jet liner, then it would have been about the size of 15 of them lined up, and the width much larger as well, much much larger.
did anyone get word of this?
this was no shuttle it was one object moving very fast, and ill tell ya, it scared the wits out of us too!
if i don't ever have to see it again, well good enough for me!
it flew towards the east, very silent, the lights did not blink or go out
any thoughts???

Dude, I'm in Ingleside and my porch gives a perfect view....of the south and south-west. I wish I saw it because I was outside, staring at the sky, at the same time as you...just in a different direction. Damn! I did see the ISS and Space Shuttle though!

all i can say is--scary

Wednesday 6/20/07 is the same day that the United Airline computer
system shut down without explaination. It's weird that the Ohare
UFO last November hovered over the United Airlines terminal building
and since then their flight-related computers have shut down 3 times
for several hours each. Coincidence? -CWM in Chicagoland (Elgin)

I'm in southern McHenry county (near Marengo), and I wish I was looking that day. Report the sighting if you and your friend don't mind a little criticism. I'd go with a newspaper. If they won't write an article on your sighting, put it in the opinions. Glad to know they're close!

I'm in Kane County, and see lots of very high altitude and very, very fast jets or whatever.

I was told by an air traffic controller that although they see this stuff, they have no access to it--out of Great Lakes or some other military base.

we should start a meet up group. LOL
