Oh nice, Equilibrium looks interesting.

Equilibrium (2002)

In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing emotions: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Bale) is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. Whe he misses a dose of Prozium, a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion, Preston, who has been trained to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it. I'd have to go with what many others have said to be honest, Star Wars ep 4, 5, 6, Alien series, Equilibrium (KL you must see that), Pitch Black (sorry Zedd but Chronicles was poop, bridging anime was good though), Serenity (shame they stopped the series) and I'm missing a load that I can't recall right now.

Oh and I kick the ass of anyone who says Starship Troopers...

Dune was great because it was such a different world. The Last Starfighter was a great one for kids.

The Abyss was worthwhile.
Event Horizon lost me

I watched that one yesterday....excellent plot and some decent action in the handgun martial art fights. But again the plot was really good, it reminded me of 1984 in some ways.

Now what should I see next.....

Alien, no 2,3,4. The first one had plot, drama, mood. A helluva film.

New one that has stayed with me was Slither. Freaky film.

Mars Attacks! (1996)

Ah yes. Let us not forget comedy and that's a good one. What about the MIB movies? Smith, Jones, Torn and a pug. How can you go wrong?

These are the movies that i have on either video or dvd.

Solaris - Well i loved this movie, though it is either loved or hated by sci fi fans. Ahh, the original not the crappy George Clooney remake.

Tron - I think the 80's released some of the best sci fi

Metropolis - a classic if you can handle silent films.

Flash Gordon - I liked this version the most.

The Omega Man - Gotta love Charlton Heston, dont ya?

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai - You might need to sit through this multiple times, but well worth it.

Blade Runner - Classic, nuff said.

Logans Run - Another movie that polarizes opinion, i like it obviously or i wouldnt have bought the video.

Scanners - This is close to my all time favorite movie, not sure why but i could watch it over and over.

Black Friday - features Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, great old movie.

Abbott and Costello go to Mars - Not their best but still hilarious.

Enjoy.

I don't think anyone has mentioned "Soylent Green" (1973) with Charlton Heston and Edward G. Robinson. It paints a really interesting vision of the future - one that seems more and more likely.
