A new US Army plan to entice soldiers to re-enlist by offering them bonuses of up to 10 thousand dollars is apparently not getting many takers. Here is what one soldier had to say:

"Man, they can't pay me enough to stay here," said a 23-year-old specialist from the army's 4th Infantry Division

No kidding. $10k?

They'd be better off going independent bounty hunter catching bad guys at $200K to $10 million a pop.

Paul Bremer = Markie Post (Fall Guy joke)

Well I'm not the kind to kiss and tell, but I've been seen with Farrah...

I forget where I read it, but one soldier being interviewed about this, at the time of the interview, heard gun shots in the distance. He was at a check point or something. Right after the shots, the Iraqi policeman he was with starting shooting into a mound of dirt (for no good reason) afterwhich he said to the reporter "See what I have to put up with" (as if he was talking about the dumbass iraqi policeman he was with, who opened up on a dirt mound, for no reason at all).

yeah, these guys can't be paid enough!

Shocking. It's a horrible situation. I bet none are too happy about the 500 some prisoners being released in Bremer's "promise you'll be good" program.

But that story is amazing. I wish the news showed that.
