I'm afraid philosophers such as Rene Descartes,
George Berkeley, David Hume, and
Immanuel Kant have been debating the issues raised in that text for over 300 years. Not to mention the
entire phenomenological tradition in philosophy that attempts to shows the meaninglessness of
the debate. It's certainly fun to wonder at the fact that our minds synthesize and interpret the sensory information we receive.
