Just thought I'd put this out there for anybody to comment on...

When I was 6 years old, in the mid 1960's, I was at a playground with my father. We finished up playing, and layed down on our backs on a concrete slab next to the playground, just looking up at the sky.

We were looking at the stars, and we noticed two stars right above us. Then one star began to move. It circled the other star several times. I remember being scared because it was so weird. I'm guessing that the first "star" circled the 2nd star 3 or 4 times, very slowly and deliberatly.

My father and I ran back home to tell the rest of the family. While we were running the star kept circling the other star, in the western sky. It was about 9:30 at night because it just got dark.

Then when we made it back home, we looked up and saw the "star" that had been circling the other star shoot off up and to the right, almost like a shooting star but going up instead of down.

I bring this up because I was with my father yesterday for Father's Day, and we were talking about this incident that we both remember vividly, even though it was 40 years later.

Anybody have any comments on this? Does this sound like a real UFO sighting, or some easily explainable event?

Sometimes I think we see these things for a reason and it's not always just a chance sighting.

i also saw something odd wen i was young, i was setting up my telescope in my bedroom with my dad, when we saw something odd in the sky, we couldnt see the shape as it was very far away but through the telescope we could see a faint red and blue flickering, we just assumed it was a geo-stationary satelite as it was there for OVER 24 hours,but after reading a lot here i have began to wonder, also it is odd as i can distinctivly remember that it wasnt there the third night
oh well, not much i can do about it now, but food for thought anyway

I think you're right. What I find interesting is that after all these years it's still one of the most memorable events of my childhood.
