You know, Jesus taught tolerance and love, the thing you people have no concept of.

A gay co-worker of mine has his homepage set to a gay porn site and everyone knows it but no one will do anything about it because it could possibly infringe on his right to be gay. But if I pulled up a porn site I would be fired on the spot. True story here, Read it and weep the world has become ultra politically correct.
Exactely what I tryed to point. " Gays have now more rights than straight & if you try to point it.....Well, you know what will be your fate !!! At least you'll be called a fanatical religious, especially if you're Christian ".
P.S : And I'm not a Christian fundamentalist.
Certainly.
Originally posted by Tyriffic I would like someone to define "Tolerance" for me please.
If forced to? No. However, "tolerance" supposes that you accept others as they are, as long as they are not hurting you or others.
Does it mean that I must digest anethamaic material everyday in my workplace??
No. "Tolerance" and "acceptance" are two different things. I don't accept that Country Music is music... but I tolerate those who do.
Does it mean I must ACCEPT the ways of others that are opposite of the way I raise my children?? Run my life??
It depends which "verse" you're talking about. As in this case, the person who was the topic of this thread posted this in his cubical for all to see: Leviticus 20:13 "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." It's not hard to see that such a verse is an implied threat. That was not "tolerant". BTW: Leviticus is a nasty place for anyone who even wants to look in the wrong direction. According to this... we should kill children who swear at their parents: 20:8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you. 20:9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. Since no parents are seemingly following this absurd piece of advice from Leviticus, can we also assume the other piece of advice about homosexuals should also be tossed out? It's a wonderful thing when entire chapters are examined in context, and not just single verses. [Edited on 9-1-2004 by SkepticOverlord]
If I can not place verses on my desk in my cube out of the main veiw of others, then is this not censorship?? Why is my faith belief an attack on homosex??

Gays have more rights! Yeah try it for yourself for a while or just pretend, see how many rights you really get. For every headline grabbing rant about 'special treatment' there's a dozen incidents of bigotry and predjudice that never get near the light of day.

lysergic, he wasnt enforcing his views on anyone. was he forcing them to believe the scripture? did he have a gun to their head, quoting the bible? no, i think not. i see no 'enforcing' here. the way the constitution is written, i should be able to display openly what i please and what i feel is close to me in my religion, just as you should be aswell. however, with this false notion of there being some seperation of church and state, which doesnt legally exist, we cant do that. wonderful world, eh?
