I used to go to a church where the pastor called the television "Hell-division". What's sad is that a lot of his other teachings were really well researched. I do believe he was a good Christian, but he let his focus stay too much on one thing. You can have too much of a good thing. That applies to almost every aspect of life. Still you shouldn't focus on one exact problem and pound that idea ignoring all others.

Television and the Internet are tools. They can be used for good or evil. True you should be selective of what you watch. I'm guilty of not being selective enough myself. That's not to say that television is evil. To have evil you must have intent. A television has no intent, will, or mind thus it can not be evil. You're argument is no better than the gun control crowd. Guns don't kill people, people kill people with guns. People were killing others long before guns were invented(Cain and Abel) and people were evil with evil thoughts long before television. You can get the same negative influence hanging out with the wrong people and never watch television a day in your life.

I am true man the follows believes in God and Christ. I dont believe in the trinity. But if your one to say that I dont believe what you do then Im going to hell. Think what you want.

First off let me confess..... I LOVE GOD!!!!!! and I walk everyday and everywhere in faith and with faith. God is constantly on my mind and with me at everystep. I wake up every morning around 3-3:30 am and offer inscence to God. I then go to work. Through out the day I chant my rounds of the "Maya Mantra" or the holy names of god. There are 16 names in the mantra and I repeat this mantra a 108 time to complete a round. I do 16 rounds a day. In the evenings when iI get home I spend time playing with my son and helping with chores and I then offer inscence to God before I go to bed at night. Oh yea I even watch tv or play playstation sometimes. I visit my local temple a few times a week and I spend my sundays (sometimes the whole weekend if I can) cleaning the temple and helping cook the offerings to God and then cleaning the pots and pans afterwards. I always try to offer my meals to God when I can. I dont drink or smoke or do drugs and Im a strict vegetarian (you know the whole "thall shall not kill " thing). But according to most "Christians" I am going to burn in hell.
WHY? Because Im a Vaishna or a devotee to Krishna. I follow the path of Krishna consciousness... that is to say Im God conscious. I follow the teachings of the Vedas that are old scriptures that date back before 5,000 B.C. Way before Jesus came and taught Krishna consciuosness. Yes Jesus did teach Krishna consciuosness and was a great Vaishna.....one of the greatest.
Now I ask you "jesus is truth" ....Who has faith? TV...Internet.... these are not things of the devil. They are tools we use now and are very useful ...if used correctly and for what they are for. Faith and religion if not used right can be tools of the devil too. If your faith is true then these thing cannot affect you it is onlt when your weak in faith that it can shake you. Now I agree there are alot of bad things on the TV and Internet but that is freedomof the press. It is freewill.... something God gave you, me and everyone else here. If you dont agree with something or dont have the will power to not let it consume you then turn off the TV.....turn off the internet.

Television is merely a canvas, it's programs the paint. TV is not evil, only some men choose to broadcast evil. Same thing with video games etc.

All technology is not evil. All things man has made are merely tools to be used. There is more than one way to wield a tool.

Nuclear fuel for instance. You can extinguish a million lives, or you can enrich a million lives.

The only thing that changes with man is fashion and technology (including systems of thought). How buildings are made, and how they are styled. This can be applied to all things.

The mind of man has not changed since biblical times. The mind is what births evil. For all evil begins in the mind. You must think about doing something before doing it.
